Right on the water and plenty of seating. You don't have to be outdoors to get a water view and both the inside and outside locations are great. We got the Rock On and Twin Crab Cakes. The crab cakes came with two sides - we got the baked potato and caesar salad. Rock On was good - came with a remoulade sauce that was delish - almost tasted like it had relish in it which was amazing because that's my favorite kind. Crab cakes were big and amazing. We liked it with the remoulade sauce that came with the Rock On. I recommend you try it with that. Baked potato wasn't anything special but the Caesar salad was suprisingly delicious.

My husband and I had dinner here last night. We arrived around 6:30 and waited 20 minutes for a table outside. The weather was perfect so the wait was more than reasonable. When we were seated, it was at a table directly overlooking the bay...and it was almost sunset. I turned to my husband and said, "This is ridiculous," just amazed by our good fortune. We ordered the soup du jour, a cream of red pepper with crab that had hardly any crab in it and was thick enough to be a dip. I barely ate any and had my husband eat the rest. This was a low point in an otherwise yummy meal. For starters, we opted for the Red, Hot, and Blue - colossal shrimp battered, fried, and bathed in hot wing sauce, served with blue cheese dressing - and the rockfish fingers with remoulade. We loved both and licked our fingers clean. As an entree, my husband got the salmon salad and I got the Oysters Rockefeller Caesar. His salmon had a nice crust and he was beyond pleased. My Caesar was okay - the oysters were good but deeply battered and I was hoping for more oyster and less batter. Our waiter was new and kept apologizing but had no reason to; he was polite and attentive. And that view! Definitely a good way to kick off our vacation.

I just had the absolute worst customer service of my life here. My family came here for years so I made it a point to come on my 21st birthday 5 years ago and they gave me a $5 off my next visit coupon (I have a picture of it with the rules on the back - no expiration date). I'm a single mom of a three-year-old now and came down to take my daughter to the beach for a day trip and found that coupon in my car. With all the new businesses coming up, there were 3 cars in the parking lot and I'm sure most were employees so I decided to use it, why not visit even though there are much better options? I let my waitress, a super nice girl named Andreea, know I had it when I ordered and she asked her manager if I could use it. As our lunch was coming to an end, she let me know her manager said no. I asked her if I could have our box then as that was the reason I popped in - why spend more? She gets the manager (who I later found out was the owner) who when I said I didn't feel like it was the customers fault an expiration wasn't listed on the coupon and said it was $5 but alright can I get my box, she leaned down and got in my face and yelled, "alright! You win! You WIN! I'LL TAKE IT OFF! I'm not arguing with you people anymore!!!" She stormed off still yelling about it, my daughter had to ask what "you people" meant and my friend who had just joined us for lunch asked if we could leave. It was the most awkward moment of my life. This is the most unprofessional establishment I have ever walked in to and I will not be back. Please make better choices for lunch with your children!!

Got a crab cake sandwich, buttered noodles, a salad, and a chicken salad sandwich. The chicken salad sandwich was awful. It tasted like I had a BJ in my mouth. The mayo to make the chicken salad was warm and terrible, and the chicken was cut so large, it was tough to eat. It literally looked like they took a jar of Hellman's and half a chicken and slapped it on a bun. The crab cake was small and twice the price of other local eateries. It had more bread than crab, and tasted like I just ate out a girl on her rag. It was not worth the money. The buttered noodles had no taste and resembled prison food with a little "butter". They were dry and could stick to a glass table. The salad was brown and wilted, and my dog wouldn't even eat it. We spent almost $40 on this "meal". Be warned. I'd rather eat road kill off of Coastal Highway.

Perfect lunch spot on the bay. Atmosphere is casual and you can watch the ducks in the water. The specialty drinks are great and the menu isn't complicated. I've been here once before and ordered the oysters, they were fresh. Today I just had soup and salad. Simple, fresh, and tasty.

This place is a joke, service is horrible we waited over 15min just to place an order. Food is over priced, for such small portions. We went on a Tuesday night this place was EMPTY and it still took forever to eat. Our empty plates and cups had to get stacked at the end of the table because our waiter never took them. We come to ocean city every year and we always like to try out a new place to eat as a family. let's just say I rather eat on the boardwalk next time Not worth the money, much better restaurants in ocean city trust me !

I just visited OCMD for the first time last weekend. Much to my surprise a lot of the touristy places I visited with my friends who frequent OC were quite disappointing, but NOT BJ's On the Water. BJ's had such a warm and inviting vibe from the moment we walked in the door. We were promptly sat at a very home-style feeling outdoor table with a patio swing as part of our seating (how cool). As we were being seated our server, Amber D., let us know that she would be with us in a few minutes. Amber was exceptional! Although, she was INCREDIBLY busy, she was most certainly, one of the most attentive servers I have had in a long time! We started with drinks and appetizers, the Rockfish bites, and the chicken salad potato wedges (I'm not sure the true menu names) which were OUTSTANDING! They came in very large portions, even with there being 4 of us, we weren't able to finish them if we even wanted to touch our main entrees. The menu selection was vast, and covered many types of food, from sandwiches/wraps, seafood, steaks, to pasta. I must say they did a bang up job on all of it. My friends and I had a little bit of everything. My favorite was the steamed shrimp and the ravioli.... I know what you are thinking.... "Ravioli at a beach restaurant that specializes in seafood, you're crazy!!!" Yep, I did it, and I definitely do not regret it!!! It tasted homemade from the fresh pasta to the chunky tomato marinara that my grandma made with tender love and care. My friends were jealous! While we were boxing up our left overs (side note: there will definitely be left overs) a gentleman came around to clear some of our dishes, I asked if he was the manager.... he hesitated and the proceeded to tell me that he was one of the owners. I began to tell him how wonderful my first time experience was at his restaurant. it is so nice to see that the owners have such a large role in the everyday business. it really makes you appreciate things much more. he was very kind and humble to hear such a great review. As we were wrapping up, the sun was falling over the bay, and boy was it a site to see. A perfect view to end a perfect meal.
(5)Michael J.
Great food. Very nice view. Service was excellent as well. Bayside views. Come in before 7:00 pm in summer to ensure a seat outside. Otherwise you can sit in AC glass room or bar area
(4)Glenn W.
Allergy Warning: Peanut Oil. Had great cream of crab soup. Crab chop chop salad. Seafood salad wrap. Ravioli . All very good. Recommend. Cute interior. nice outside.
(4)Stephen K.
Came here for an early lunch and got seated straight away. The view of the bay here is great and the interior seems nice but could get very crowded easily. I got the Gobbler and I was delicious. The rest of my group seemed to enjoy their meals as well. The only problem was the waiter who spilled the drinks twice. Even with those two blips he was incredibly nice and friendly and shaved off a bit of the bill from the spilt drinks. Overall I would definitely come back and try some of the other food here as well and would like to see the atmosphere when the have one of their live bands here.
(4)Mark L.
Update not as positive as the initial review. Mozzarella sticks fine, clams casino ok. Crab cakes had big chunks, but were dry and bland. The coleslaw might as we'll been shredded cabbage in milk, with a heavy dose of caraway seeds. It needed salt, sugar, vinegar (all the things that make coleslaw, coleslaw). The soup 'n salad was equally disappointing. The salad had a light mist of dressing fogged over it. The onion soup was beef broth with a couple of onions thrown in and broth logged croutons scuba diving in the bottom of the bowl. Waitress was attentive, but the only time we got anything resembling a smile was when the check was presented (tip time). Oh, and I never did get my bread.
(2)Eric M.
Only been there once but was a great experience. Very experienced funny and respectful waiter (forget his name but he is on a local late night radio station), also great food and dessert. Nice relaxing low key spot on the water..would recommend.
(4)Darlene V.
Went here on a Sunday night. View is lovely of the bay and you can watch paddle boarders go by while you eat. Crab Imperial was good. Wait staff is very friendly and attentive.
(4)Scott S.
I have never had dinner at a restaurant with more than three people where everyone disliked their food. And then I went to BJ's on the Water, where seven of us reached the same conclusion. Not enough can be said about how poor our experience was here. It took more than half an hour for the waitress to take our order and another twenty minutes before we received our drinks. Given that we had a hungry baby at our table, we complained to the manager about the slow service but were told to sit down and wait. When the food finally arrived after a few more eons, we realized that we would have been better crossing the street and eating sand. The Crab Meat Chop Salad consisted of large bowls of wilted lettuce with traces of crab meat. The crab cakes were small and should have been advertised as breadcrumb and mayonnaise cakes. I won't even get into the fish.... Long story short, don't eat here unless you have a masochistic streak or enjoy writing negative restaurant reviews.

I went for dinner when visiting my friend's family in OCMD for a few days, and I'm so glad we picked this place! We wanted to eat out on the patio, and they said it would be about a 40 minute wait, but they hoped to be able to seat us quicker. We decided to wait for 15 minutes, and sit inside if there was no movement. After about ten minutes, we were seated at a table right by the water. It was a beautiful night to sit outside and watch the sunset, so worth it! Both indoor and outdoor seating areas are large. We started with the old bay steamed shrimp as an app, and they were great. Everyone loved the entrees they got and the food came out so fast! I had the crab cake BLT. It was out of this world! The huge crab cake was basically all crab- no filler in sight! It was on a Texas toast type bread with ample bacon, lettuce, and tomato. My mouth is watering. I want another right now! As we were walking out, there was a live band playing inside (Friday night around 9), and it looked like everyone was having a great time! I wish we could have stayed later, but I was driving home that night. I would definitely go back and recommend!
(5)Samantha D.
Awesome view of the bay! I had the Cajun grilled Mahi and a mango daiquiri. The Mahi was good and the drink was superb! My favorite drink of the trip. Hubby had crab imperial which he said was amazing.
(5)Mindy M.
Rockfish bites are tasty and the crab chop chop salad is very good with smoked bacon (coupled use tomatoes though). Great view if the water and at night you can watch the fish!
(3)Lisa L.
The food here is delicious. I have never had a bad meal. Seafood is wonderful and the cheeseburgers are tasty. Very nice staff, always smiling. Nice view especially at sunset. A must when down at the beT
(4)Leigh Ann G.
This place is overall pretty good. The service was excellent. But the food was kind of bland and basic. I got the teriyaki chicken which came with rice and canned fruit cocktail which seemed kind of weird, but it all went together really well. My boyfriend ordered the surf and turf which was $65! But he said it was delicious and worth it. The view is gorgeous if you sit near the windows overlooking the bay.
(4)Ryan S.
BEST BUFFALO SHRIMP EVER!!! We've been coming to BJ's for many of our 12 years visiting OCMD & have almost always had great experiences here. The Caesar salad with house croutons is great, sliders, etc... But our favorite menu items is the red, hot & blue shrimp! It is a must have any time we are in town!
(4)Tim E.
When we looked and saw it only had a 3.3 rating we were apprehensive but very glad we made the voice to go. The food was great the view was priceless and our waitress Sunny was a ray of sunshine!! (pun intended).
(4)David V.
We came for lunch on a Saturday and the food was pretty bad and expensive, and the service was terrible. Our waitress wasn't great. At one point my friend asked if BJs served milkshakes. She (actually) responded with, "I don't *think* so, but even if we do I'd have to make it so...". This girl was too lazy to make a milkshake even though she only had one table. She also refused to let us pay with more than one credit card. Only place that's ever happened to me (at least for places that accept cards).
(2)Rick R.
The food was good. I had the crab cake sandwich which was fresh and tasty. The service was very slow.
(3)Brian C.
one of the best crab cakes I ever had!
(5)Susan K.
Probably one of the best lobster tails I've ever had. Thank you Ralph for serving us.
(5)Joshua L.
Food was terrible, our server was polite but the management was ridiculous and tied his hands. My burger was under cooked and my wife's fish sandwich was incredibly salty. They wouldn't even bring free bread out for a table of 19 with a check of over $500!! Talk about cheapos!
(1)Jessica L.
This place serves dinner till 2 am so we decided to have a late meal here. The chicken teriyaki portion was so small it should have been on a kid menu. The crab cake was a breaded ball of mostly breading with a bit of crab and absolutely no seasoning. Not even a lemon wedge on the plate. The BLT had so much bacon on it I wondered if maybe they had just thrown all the leftover bacon on from the entire day rather than throw it out. It was laughable. The smokers all line up right outside the dining room window so as you are eating, they are staring in at you watching you eat and blowing smoke at the windows. The bar area is a bit rowdy but that is to be expected from a bar area I suppose. Over priced food that was not impressive in the least.
(2)Olexandr K.
Great place for breathtaking views of the bay and delicious food! Visited this restaurant in March, they have daily specials that run half price, extremely good value. Tuesdays is crab cakes for $13. Overall nice ambience, friendly staff, and great meal.
(5)Vijay B.
Nice views, had the crab dip which tasted amazing. The restaurant is nice for a casual dinner or lunch. Also had the seafood melody which was pretty good as well. I was impressed with the restaurant. Went on a Saturday nite, there was a live band.
(4)Daryn B.
We enjoyed BJs while visiting Ocean City. In fact my family has made this restaurant a request for the past few years. Great view, good food, very nice service. The kids split a seafood platter which they enjoyed, I had the maui Maui and my wife had the terriakki chicken. All were prepared perfect
(4)Melissa B.
We go to Bj's on the water because of entertainment coupons , and the amazing veiw .... the food is ok ... nothing to write home about . Crabcakes are not at all what they should or could be , but also not the worst I have had . They are also extra stingy on the rolls only giving one per person , we asked for more and where brought out 2 more . Now I don't know about some of you , but I like bread lol. Oh also don't order the raspberry dressing unless you like thick overly sweet fake raspberry flavored dressings .
(3)Eric L.
BJs serves fairly decent, but not great food, but overpriced as most restaurants are in the ocean city area. The crab cakes were fairly small and fried with a thin crust on the outside, somewhat unusual. My wife's house salad was decent and the mahi mahi was fresh. For all who use entertainment.com coupons beware. We ordered 2 entrees from the entree section of the menu and my wife's $5.99 house salad from the appetizer section of the menu. The coupon was for buy one get one free entree. Guess what they took off the check? The $5.99 salad. When I asked the waiter, he said sorry, but my wife ordered a salad as an entree. They are told to take the cheapest thing off the menu. Ridiculous. Welcome to Ocean City.
(2)Kevin S.
Good food and AMAZING views! Good when you want a nice, reasonably priced, lunch and enjoy some of OC's best views of the bay. My family usually comes here when they want to grab a burger for lunch.
(4)Jim L.
After a windy day of freezing on the beach, we didn't want to eat fast food or pizza, nor wait for one hour to get a seat somewhere. What the heck, I haven't been to BJ's in over 20 years! It was always crowded, so I've always just drove by. Tonight (Saturday), we were able to walk right in at 6:30pm and get a table immediately outside. Nice view of the bay. DEFINTELY get the "Seafood Skins" appetizer. Overflowing with seafood on top of potato wedges topped off with melted cheddar cheese. Jason, normally picky as heck actually loved them! I got the Fried Colossal Shrimp, which were HUGE, but over-breaded.... Devon, our server was attentive and kept the water glasses filled...good job! Diane got the Seafood Salad which was overflowing with seafood as well. Good job BJ's!
(4)Debi H.
Always love going to BJ's, very friendly atmosphere and the crab pizza is out of this world! In fact all the food is great! A year round location and I always hit it up when in town!
(5)Pam B.
Went here last night for dinner and Keno and both were a big hit! We had the Valentine's Day steak and lobster dinner which was very good. I was surprised but the steak was really good. The only sad news is that they were out of honey butter and the lobster was served with melted margarine. WHAT??? The dessert was a chocolate molten lava cake served with ice cream. Delicious. This is a great place to hang out and watch the sunset! Can't wait to return in warmer weather.
(3)Craig S.
Absolutely horrible. I've learned a new meaning for the word "Colossal". It means 2 inches. Colossal fried shrimp are anything but, absolute rip-off. Crab salad must have that Phillips Indonesian, fake, crabmeat. Definitely not Maryland crabmeat. Crab imperial has the same garbage crabmeat and mostly filler. Waitress never came back to see if we needed more to drink. The place is so loud you can't even hear yourself think. Take a great big pass on this place. Used to be good, but no more
(1)Claire H.
The crab imperial was rich and creamy, an excellent choice for our last meal in Ocean City! The banana dacquiri was also tasty! Will definitely return!
(5)Kevin W.
Went here twice on our vacation. Great experience for dinner, mediocre for lunch. Great view of the bay, the patio tables are great in the evening. Dinner entrees were fantastic, I recommend the flounder. The burgers were so-so. Servers took a bit too long to get to our table both times, especially our lunch visit, when it wasn't even busy.
(4)R N.
Worse place ever! The owner Maddie is so rude to paying customers. I will never come here again. If I am a paying customer I expect some respect. Food is gross, the staff is unwelcoming and the place is basic. Go some where its worth it in Ocean City NOT here!
(1)M W.
Doors were locked at 11:30 on a Saturday morning. TVs were on, but no one answered the door. Several different groups ended up walking away. Weird way to run a business. Used to be a favored destination for us on the first day we arrived in OCMD. No more, I guess.
(1)Gretchen L.
Sad that this place has gone downhill. My lunch was okay, but I used to have amazing meals here. No more. Won't be back.
(2)Matt K.
Honestly 1 star is generous....heads up they don't consider American passports a valid form of identification since according to the manager they are the easiest to forge.. also on top of that I was with my family the manager was completely rude
(1)Keith H.
Don't eat here. The woman who runs the place leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to people skills. This is one place you can skip in Ocean City. She's rude and should not be in the restaurant business.
(1)Kelly P.
The bar area is fun. The service is okay. The tables are cheesey beach plastic with fake flowers. I think it's over priced. The seafood toast was $14 but it was really good.
(3)Tara L.
I would have LOVED to review this place, since everything I've read so far sounds good... HOWEVER, my party sat at an outdoor table , surrounded by other patrons, and were COMPLETELY ignored by the waitstaff. Waiters came and went , looked right at us, and continue on their way. We got up and left after 30 minutes. ( and no- the place was not busy) And we will NEVER go back there again.
(1)Kathy S.
Went there last night. The food was terrible! Pasta was cold and mushy. Blue dressing for the salads was an extra $1.98 a per person. Fries was almost black. I said to the server " you do realize that the fries are burnt". He said okay and came back with a plate of fries that were okay and the correct Color. Food was over priced. Won't be giving them a second chance
(1)Sandie M.
Great atmosphere, muscles overcooked, would prefer higher end alcohol choices with speciality drinks, not smirinoff.
(3)Jen W.
A friend recommended this place for lunch. It's a great spot right on the bay. They have a long bar plus an indoor dining area that faces the bay. We sat outside on the deck. It is a gorgeous view of the bridge and bay. The furnishings and restaurant seem a little tired and worn but that did not deter the restaurant goers as the restaurant was pretty full. The servers and host were very pleasant and efficient. They even have pictures in the waiting area near the front of all the staff they have had over the years. You can see that some of the same faces worked here year after year. The food offerings were straightforward American with classics like salads, burgers, sandwiches, appetizers and entrees. The Black Russian sandwich was good. It was turkey and roast beef with Thousand Island dressing stuffed between pumpernickle. The meat was moist and tasty. The Chicken Salad was incredible. It had huge chunks of white breast meat with flecks of celery. This was a nice surprise. The Buffalo Chicken sandwich was a messy spicy breast on a roll. The highlight for me were the hand cut fries. They were hot and glistening from their recent oil bath. These fries were cooked perfectly. This place is known for "feeding the ducks and geese." While we ate lunch, the manager tossed feed from a 5 gallon bucket. The water fowl went crazy for it!
(3)Suzy Q S.
The service was sassy but very good about refilling the drink orders. The food takes a very long time to prepare and get to you as well as the appetizers. The pasta was not good and tasted like a box of noodles and jarred sauce. Would not recommend if you are looking for a full range of delicious menu options. Overall was disappointed.
(1)Michael O.
Just had a nice dinner there yesterday! The view was great, and food was good. I see a lot of people commenting that service was bad, but we thought service was good. No complaints. Crab imperial was good; potato stuffed appetizer was great; steak sandwich was good. Only complaint that my friend had was chicken teri was not that great.
(4)Andreas H.
We stopped in for dinner on a Friday night in June, so it was BUSY. We were greeted immediately and shown to a table outside, but under a roof, so we were protected from the scattered sprinkles that were plaguing the area that night. I ordered the crab cakes and they were OK, but I was expecting more. The salad was underwhelming and the oil and vinegar bottles were sticky. Ugh. Our server was "too cool for school", if you know what I mean. He was slow, had an attitude, and I am guessing wore his collar popped outside of BJ's. The crap part was their mediocre selection of beer at ridiculous prices. $6 for a poorly poured pint of Bass? Really? No local beers? Lame. Overall a 2-star experience.
(2)Kim G.
The menu lists options as gluten free. I ordered the cheese steak but was told it would come without a bun. I got a steak on a roll. So.... Not a cheesesteak nor gluten free. The waiter told me he'd have them cook me a new one. It came back way too quickly and w/ pieces of the original roll. I won't be returning.
(1)Allen H.
Second time I have tried this place for something to eat. First time was horrible. Today it was no better. Fresh catch of the day was frozen and nasty. I'm a fisherman and know the difference between fresh and frozen. My wife had the same and her fish was equally bad. If you like loud music, dance floor, horrible food, go here.
(1)Louis W.
Service was ok, we got a new guy who wasn't very experienced in waiting tables. But the food was great, and the outside view is nice too especially at sunset. Definitely worth checking out while you're in OC
(4)Linda M.
What a disappointment. Arrived at 5:00 on a Tuesday night and we were seated in the middle of the dining room. After 20 minutes of waiting to be greeted or offered anything we got up and walked out. When we left hostess asked where were we sitting. At least 4 employees walked past us several times and didn't even make eye contact. I guess they don't need the business. Will never go back. Had to give a star to be able to post comment. Would have given no stars.
(1)Crashley L.
Great view of the bay. The inside is a little dated, but the food was great. I recommend the BBQ on the pretzel roll and the crab cakes. I had the crab cake BLT, I'm pretty picky about crab cakes and this was one of the better ones I've had -lump crab without much filling.
(4)Larry A.
I joined Yelp just to write this review. The quality of food and service have, indeed, declined in the last few years. I had the crab cakes and my wife had the steak caesar. The crab cakes arrived without the cole slaw, but there was no one to tell until I was almost finished. The cakes themselves were mildly fishy and had plenty of filler. The salad almost tasted like it had Italian dressing rather than caesar, and the steak was chewy - probably not a high quality ingredient. My fries were pretty good, but undercooked. The view is unchanged, and gorgeous. Stick with a simple sandwich and watch the sun set. For entree that merit the prices, look elsewhere.
(2)Carole W.
I was there last night with friends. Was so very very loud. The newest from a private party made it hard to hear anyone speak at my table. They, the private party, had been there last night as well. Management received too many complaints but did nothing about it. It totally ruined the evening out. What they call a private room is really a section of the dining room divided by curtains.
(2)Bob Y.
Should have trusted the reviews. We ordered the special, Cajun Mahi Mahi and Oyster Sandwich. We had Clams Casino and Crab Dip to start... the Clams Casino was just a clam with cheese and bacon on it thrown under the broiler, the crab dip was interesting... runny cheese with no crab ??? Served on a bun ??? We were also told that the kitchen made a rule that they would not put cheese on baked potatoes, they served the tough over cooked oysters (fried till dehydrated and almost black) with cocktail sauce rather than the tarter sauce that it was supposed to come with, God forbid they have some other cajun sauce for the oyster sandwich... Overall, mediocre at best service, horrible food (the Mahi Mahi was not bad even though it appeared to have been tossed on a plate and covered with Ol Bay)... top it off with the kitchen "rules" and microwaved baked potato and its MY FIRST ONE STAR EVER on Yelp.... If they were smart they would stick to bar food...
(1)Jon N.
Great location! The food and service were even better than expected based on some of the negative reviews. Showed up on a Wednesday night they had live music and a strong local bar crowd. Took just a few minutes to seat our party of 8 in the main dining room. Had the stuffed flounder which was outstanding. Will be adding to the list for return visit next time in OC.
(5)Alison J.
Food is good but the service was lacking. Our waiter didn't inform us in extra charges for dressing and a Caesar salad instead of a house salad. Our server practically ignored us when he had a party of 12 come in.
(2)shea s.
My best friend and I wen't here on a whim because we wanted the best crab dip in town. If you want a relaxed fun beautiful place this is it. The inside has a bar that is a little loud, but the outside patio is where it is at. They had a live band the night we were there and our server was very pleasant. The food was outstanding, the only thing i didn't like was the crab stuffing that came with my seafood platter. Other then that the soup was outstanding, the food warm and fresh, service great and environment perfect.
(5)Patti K.
BJ's, usually a favroite in Ocean City and one of my "go to places" for years fell flat this time. Found myself dining alone on the Tuesday after Labor Day. I asked to be seated on the patio, which was half-empty (as was the restaurant). Hostess was guiding me to a perfect patio table, when one of the other staff waved her arm and directed the hostess to seat me in 'siberia' at a table at the far back of the patio. I refused and asked to see the manager. After several tries to connect with the woman who directed my hostess (who was perfectly nice) a man came out and said he was the manager. I explained the situation and he immediately led me to the original outside table. The waitress arrived and asked why I didn't have a menu, "weren't you seated by the hostess?" she asked. I, again, explained. She slammed the menu down and stomped off. After a bit, she returned and said, "So, what's your plan?" (What ever happened to 'how may I help you?') I ordered (against my better judgement) and the food arrived via a server who slammed it down in front of me. My waitress returned several times with "how is it, hon; can I get you anything dear." The 'manager' came out again once as well and inquired as to my well being. I ate, demanded the check, shorted the waitress on the tip and left. I'll never know if my food was "compromised" in the kitchen. The rude behavior of the staff and the discrimination I felt (woman, dining alone) will cause me never to return to BJ's and never to recommend it to anyone. The one star is because they do have a nice patio.
(1)Bill S.
I had the crab cake BLT, it was great value for price. Family's meals perfect!!! First night in OC. BJ's was great place to start!
(4)Carli O.
Ok. Our order was messed up. The shrimp was rubbery. However, the chicken potato skins were good and the crab special was good as well. Not a terrible place for the family to go to, but was overpriced. Hooked was much more delicious and the prices and service was waaayy better there. Won't be going back.
(3)Sarah N.
Every aspect was horrible, from service to food. I am not a seafood person but my husband is and he hated it. So much breading in the seafood dishes. My fries were so gross and my wrap was cold. We had a group of ten. We called ahead and they said stated it would be a ten minute wait, we waited more like forty minutes. The place is outdated looking and the server was not customer friendly. One person in our group wanted to substitute something. The server simply said he couldn't do it and it wasn't his fault. It was just plane gross and sad representation of seafood.
(1)W B.
Food was just ok. Service was good, polite young man. But the place is kind of gritty. Outside tables had sticky vinyl tablecloths. Place really needs a face lift and has a look of end of summer, and it's just early June. Probably won't go back.
(3)Matt G.
Had a good meal there considering it was the off season. My sons got the steamed shrimp and they loved them. Would eat there again.

I'm not even sure where to start... Today is an off-season day here in Ocean City, MD so I will give the single star since perhaps there is new staff here or something. 1. We arrived for lunch about 1:20. This is a big place and we stood by the "Please wait to be seated" sign so long that I finally picked up menu's from the desk to see what might be the special. There were maybe 14 tables filled and many empties. After 10 minutes of waiting or so, we finally were debating leaving out loud. At THAT point, we realized that the man in the green shirt was actually the host and he had not only watched us walk in but didn't acknowledge us until we said out loud it was time to walk out. I had a menu in my hand when he walked up and he told me I'd need to get a second one and also a specials menu. No apology for length of wait. 2. We are seated and then left quite alone for a significant amount of time. Again, we had decided we would finally get up and leave about 15 minutes later, when the waiter ambled by and told us he'd be right back. In case he was new, I don't want to name him, but he needs to smile and at least acknowledge his tables even if busy. Again, it was NOT busy. It was almost 2pm now on a Thursday off season. 3. We ordered Crab Soup, a broiled Crabcake and a Grilled Tuna Sandwich. He asked how the tuna should be prepared--we said medium. I mentioned the crabcake should be broiled. Also asked for Ranch Dressing instead of tarter for the sandwich and fries. Keep that in mind for later. I was assured the Crab Soup was all homemade. Keep that in mind too. 4. The food did come quickly but the Crabcake can at best be described as a fried-up round cafeteria ball of crab. Note I said fried and not broiled. I'm also guessing it was time to change the oil as the batter on this fried up ball o' crab was beige-gray. Not appealing. Rather than waste crab and since we had to get back to a conference, I tasted it. Inside the terrible exterior it was okay enough to eat but by no means something I'd ever return for again. I had to ask about the whereabouts of the Ranch Dressing since I'd gotten Tarter Sauce instead. It eventually arrived. My Crab Soup was (I'm reasonably sure) Campbell's Vegetable Soup from my childhood snow days. There was some crab tossed in but in no world was that homemade. Only then did I realize my dining companion was picking over her sandwich. The Tuna was wildly overdone and bland. A thick slathering of tarter sauce made it slightly palatable and she doesn't even do tarter sauce. She ate 1/2 of it. 5. When the check came, we'd been charged .69 for extra sauce. My guess--the Ranch Dressing I asked for in place of tarter sauce. I got one small cup of ranch, not a vat of it. I asked for it IN PLACE OF tarter sauce. We paid it--it's .69 after all--but how laughable and really offensive to not have been told this upfront if this is a restaurant policy. Or better yet, put it on the menu. Oh your menus haven't been reprinted in years? Well Staples sells labels nowadays and you can print it on there and stick it on every menu. Restaurants do better by telling you fees upfront, than by alienating customers with hidden fees. We paid and got out, never to come back again. We got a $5.00 coupon towards our next meal which we gave to some elderly ladies in the parking lot. Hopefully they have a more enjoyable lunch than us.

This was our second time here in as many years. The crab cakes are the best that I have had in O.C. prices are moderate for the area. The service is a tad slow, but still one of the better places around the area. Salads seemed limp, like prepared yesterday....
(3)LetsEat N.
Saturday night. We mistakenly opted for outdoor seating: way too hot! Seafood medley was so so. Good crabcake but imperial had too much filler for its tiny size, the fish was bland. Service avg. Could do without their F bombs while kids are nearby. I guess I would expect that Lang from patrons but not staff.
(2)Ray G.
Great for lunch with the kids during the daily duck feeding at 1pm.
(4)Eric G.
BJ's is another spot my family and I like to re-visit when we're in Ocean City. It's a great place for dinner. We always get a nice table down by the water (overlooking the bay), the service is always great, and I've never had a bad meal. We usually have to wait to a little while to be seated, but there's a nice area to walk around and take a few pictures to kill some time.
(4)Aly P.
The view is so pretty and especially when the sun is setting. The service is good and people seem friendly. Was quite surprised how expensive the place is though. And some of the food portions are so small with a big price. I had the stuffed flounder and it was very good but very thin and oily. There didn't seem to be much to it and the sauce on top was like pure oil, it was too much, but the portion wasn't. I definitely was not full after. It was still good though. The rolls were good, they were like a honey wheat. I'd return, but for what you get, its over priced. Either they need to make portions bigger and keep those high prices or keep food size the same and lower the price.
(3)John M.
Alway's good year round. I am locale and can always count on BJ's for a great meal and a good drink. Seafood skins are to die for and a must. Drinks are good and made right. Service is great too. My only slight rash to BJ's is smokers to side of front door. I would move smoking area around side and out of the way. No one really wants a whiff or walk through cigarette smoke when entering the restaurant. Other than that it's great
(4)Shannon S.
In an off-season visit to Ocean City, it can be hard to find a place that is open past 9PM, but BJ's was hopping when we hit it about 9:30. A menu of standard steak and seafood options was exactly what you would expect. The food and drinks were just a'right. There was a band playing that was so loud you couldn't talk, which made for an interesting dinner. But, the view was nice, as assumed it is "on the water" and there was some type of crazy fish spawning going on just out the window from our table.
(3)Heather F.
We were looking for a new place to have dinner here in the OC and passed this place by, deciding to stop. I loved how the building was an almost antique style and right on the bay with some ducks swimming around. Has a great bar and dining area with a beautiful view. The menu was alright, had a hard time choosing. I got a chicken salad sandwhich was their own recipe and really delish. Their salads are very fresh as well. Overall it was an okay place and the prices were reasonable.
(3)Keith K.
Great drinks and good food. Try the seafood skins if you visit this little piece of heaven. They are probably one of the best things on earth.
(4)Noelle V.
I was extremely nervous about how this place would be after I was seated--At the very least, they could use new carpeting or get rid of the carpeting all together, because the place smelled musty and moldy. I don't mind if a place is outdated and aged looking, but at least update decor and such for cleanliness. I was more nervous when I sat down and the wooden booths and such were a bit dusty and dirty. Come on, its not that hard to have your servers wipe around their area before their shift is over-- I thought that cleaning your section was a servers job? Our server was really nice -- The food was also delicious. We shared the buffalo shrimp appetizer and had a small lunch of just soups and salads. My bf said he thought the buffalo shrimp could have been spicier, but i thought it was good. The soups and salads were great as well. Another issue I had was that we could see two of the servers kissing, not just a small peck either, for quite a while, and in plain view of many customers. I'm no conservative prude, but I don't need to see your hands all over each other while you suck each others faces as I am eating. Doesn't seem like there was any sort of Manager on duty, that I saw anyway. For a busy restaurant in a vacation area, it seems weird that they wouldnt have someone running the floor. Maybe they should consider some good restaurant management and not leave running the whole floor up to some high school kids??
(3)Shirley A.
Ate here on a Wednesday night - arrived around 5:15 there was no wait. Table was at a bayside window - view was great! It was in the "smaller" bar area but that was OK. Very casual place...quite a few families were there. Waitress was good except she forgot our crab dip and we didn't get it until halfway through our meal. I got the stuffed flounder - a very large portion - slightly overcooked but still tasty. The crab dip was just ok. Salad was good and the other reviewers are correct - great croutons! Not sure if we'll be back here since there are so many other places in OC we haven't tried yet!
(2)Kyle B.
We stopped in for a quick bite and drinks. The seafood salad over a potato was pretty good, but it seemed to lack a lot of fresh seafood. The atmosphere and live bands were great though. I was there in the winter, but I am sure in the summer the patio/deck areas are great. Our service was very good as well.
(3)W. L.
45+ year old hang out spot +crab cakes are great +fantastic sunset -the closest person to my age was wearing huggies :) -\+ live music...with tunes I've never heard before.
(2)Brian M.
Food was not as good as year's past. My wife and I dined here 9/15 after the main dinner rush about 8:30-9pm. Service was adequate but the food was a real let down. Wife ordered crab cake sandwich. the crab cake was over worked with no sign of "lump" crab meat. I ordered the crab imperial, which I have had on more than one occasion in the past. This evening, the crab imperial was overcooked and dry.
(2)Elaine T.
I hadn't been to BJ's in years and was here for lunch on a recent Saturday. The water view was still great. The kids loved the big bird nest and "bird cam" set up inside the restaurant. Service had a rocky start when our waitress disappeared and the manager (?) told us it was because she was busy with a large table outside. Okay, this happens... but the attitude was essentially "she has more important things to do." We had to ask him if someone else could take our order, so he did. It was just weird. Anyway, I had a black russian sandwich which was just a basic lunchmeat sandwich, nothing remarkable. The other adult at the table had the SOTD (cream of red pepper & crab) and a chicken salad sandwich, both of which she liked. Kids meals were all standard issue. Overall, a pretty forgetable experience. I wasn't enticed to come back for dinner. Just didn't seem like the place I remember.
(2)Glenn F.
We arrived for dinner for the first time and asked them where my wife and I could sit that's fairly quiet (mind you, its offseason, so should be pretty quiet to begin with). So they took us to the room on the bay, decent area, but..a small bar was there full of drunks, very loud. The food was good though, I had a broiled crabcake BLT. Never had one before and really enjoyed it. Ambiance gets a C-, food B+ thus 3 stars.
(3)Russell F.
Great view and cool atmosphere! We had a coupon, so we thought it was buy one get one. We found out later it was up to 15 bucks! Bummer, my wife got a margarita and crab cakes.... 6 for the Rita was way too much, crake cakes sub par. Crab cakes not worth the 22 bucks either! I got the strip steak, I ordered it mid rare.. Got it med well, sent back, got it medium. Plus! No seasoning on the steak. Once again, not worth the 25 bucks. Plus, the salads were so bad and gross! Would not go back!
(2)Cheryl B.
We return every year and are never disappointed. We always order the stuffed shrimp and clams casino. These are the best! For the first time we were here for football Sunday and the atmosphere was great. Ordered from the bar, bartender was quick to refill and take our order, the food was quick and came out hot. Highly recommend any night of the week but not sure about during the season since we always go during the off season.

Went w fam and friends. Been every summer for 18 years. Understand that Memorial Day weekend is tough. Very good waitress training another good waitress. Hairs in my daughters soup and mixed in with my sons hot dog. Gross but kept going. My T bone was well done instead of Med Rare and potatoes were very undercooked. Sd something to the waitress w the intention of waiting for new steak. Manager came over and sd it was medium and was very rude. Ended up yelling at him and telling him how clueless he was... Will never go back. 18 years. Many friends and family... No more money for bjs in the water.... How sad for them no one ever told the manager the customer is always right especially when he know much more than the man

My Boyfriend and I where looking for a place to see and hear the Redskins games yesterday while we were spending our last day in OC and he came across BJ's by the halt of the brakes because it said 2 things, REDSKINS HEADQUARTERS!!! I had a great time at this local bar and they showed the SKins game on all the big TV's and everytime the Skins score they play the Hail to The Redskins fight song...freakin cool!!! All-n-all the staff was super friendly and so were all the Redskins fans that were in attendance. If I could make it there every sunday we play i would!!! GO SKINS!!!
(4)Renee R.
This was the BEST restaurant we have ever gone to in Ocean City. I have three kids and the food, atmosphere, and seating was amazing. Most importantly, our server, Jeremy, was simply awesome! My infant, 2 yr old, really took to him and continually gave him hugs and kisses all night. It was adorable :) You can't go wrong here :) HIGHLY recommended. We can't wait to go back next year! Jeremy better still be working there!!!
(5)Diesel H.
I am giving this place two stars for about three reasons. 1. the view is beautiful. right on the water, awesome 2. my family has so many memories at this place from when they were little 3. they have tons of geese all over the place and ducks.. so cute so my husband got a steak sandwich in which he was charged too much for and said it was nothing special. my chicken finger platter seemed like fake chicken, it was rubbery and weird textured... im a CF pro, so i would certainly know. the appearance of this place is so dated. update, won't you? won't be back the next time I visit OCMD, sorry! too many restaurants i'd rather try
(2)Zig H.
service was ok. Food was subpar. Disappointed that my childs Burger and fries was better than my crab imperial or my wife's crabcake. Manager was not helpful, he tried to give us a hard time about a coupon, and when we got there tried to cram 7 people into a table for six, when the place was dead. he never even thanked us for coming or apologized for giving us a hard time
(1)Tuan L.
We got there around lunch time, got greeted, and seated immediately. Waitress comes up and asks for our drinks. I want to know what the drink specials are, and she says "I'm very busy". WTF, and ordered a soda. We ordered our food, and it took over 45 minutes for lunch sandwiches to come out. We were there for a total of 1hr and 30 minutes for crappy service. Only saw the waitress three times. The food was horrible. I should have read the reviews before coming here.
(1)Kate B.
Absolutely disgusting. Do not go here. While the service is apathetic and unacomadating, the food is the real reason to never step foot in this place again. While they only gave our party of six three small buns of read to snack on and refused to bring more, the meal that was consumed was primarily bread. The crab cake sandwich left me unsatisfactory, had absolutely no taste and left me with mild heartburn. My friend ordered a burger and her bun was falling apart it was so drenched in some sort of cooking oil and the sight of it was absolutely revolting. At the end of the meal it was decided upon that we for the most part ate bread. Better off eating at 7-11.

I heart B.J.'s. Dinner at B.J.'s is always one of the absolute best parts of our yearly trip to Ocean City. It is pretty much impossible to leave anything but relaxed and totally happy. We always sit outside on the deck watching the sunset, which is what makes it so absolutely special. They have one of the best views around, so sitting there on their deck, good drink in hand, watching the sun go down... what could be better. Especially because their drinks are SO good. Really delicious. I highly recommend the Toasted Almond and the Peach Margarita. Man, now I want one right now... and it's 10 in the morning. :D Also on the *must* have list... any salad with their croutons. Or just order a bowl of croutons. Seriously, their homemade croutons are ridiculously good. And last on that list - Maddy's Peanut Butter Pie. Best dessert ever. :-) I can't remember ever having bad service here, but certainly not this year. Our server was attentive and friendly and really went above and beyond. She made us feel like she had absolutely nothing to do but wait on us, when in actual fact she was running around crazy busy. She also came back and suggested a better dish for me that was much cheaper than what I had ordered - basically, the kid's version. :) She didn't have to do that, and I really appreciated it!

With great sadness I announce the death of a 20 year family tradition: dinner at BJ's On The Water. What once was a reliably nice, almost romantic, quality dining experience has become just another schlock joint among dozens of forgettable establishments along Coastal Highway. The sunset view from their bayside deck is the only quality thing left of our old favorite. The ducks and bay creatures that once frequented the nearby dock have abandoned the location, replaced by floating litter and an odd oily sheen on the water. THE FOOD: I ordered a scallop and shrimp platter; the 4 scallops were small and overdone, the 4 rubbery shrimp deserving of their diminutive moniker. The tasteless butter sauce resembled an oil slick. I don't like oversized meals but this was ridiculously small, like hors d'oeuvres. My beloved reported that her stuffed flounder was small, the crab meat heavily cut with bread filler and unremarkable at best. The only passable part of our meals was the small but fresh salad, though one of our teenage sons rated his expensive burger "pretty good." Our other teenage boy ordered a steak sandwich that consisted of a grayish, grizzly and fatty slab of meat tossed on a roll. Our youngest son ordered chicken fingers (again - I swear he's starting to grow feathers and make clucking noises). THE SERVICE: Our server was attentive and friendly enough but she chirped the phrase, "You got it!" so many times during ordering that it became a running joke the rest of the meal. VALUE: We ordered no alcohol (perhaps a drink would have helped!) and did not order extravagantly yet our bill still overtopped $120 at a restaurant that now serves its side dishes in plastic containers, picnic style. Portions and quality are down, the prices are up. Not a value at all. We could have duplicated the experience on the boardwalk for half the price. But then we would have been deprived of the "You got it!" gag. My advice: if you come, come only for cocktails at the bar to see the sunset. Then take your hunger and your money somewhere else for dinner. What a shame. BJ's of blessed memory, we will miss you and the fun we had breaking bread at your tables!
(2)Sarah F.
Love the bar in the back overlooking the bay (and all the ducks and ducklings!). Happy hour specials were really good, we ordered the steamed shrimp with Old Bay ($5.99) and the shrimp were so good we ended up getting another order. Happy Hour beers on tap were $1.50 for a small and $2.50 for a large. We also ordered the Feta Fusion appetizer which was good but would have been better had they served it with french bread instead of little crackers. In addition to all this we got the seafood salad wrap which I thought would be a lot better (the menu said it was award winning) but lacked spices and was just bland. Our bartender was very sweet and even shared some home made chocolate with us. Avoid Rip though at the inside bar he was pretty rude to us when we came in.
(4)Lynn G.
BJ's offers one of the best views of an OC sunset, and the wait staff was pleasant, but the food was mediocre at best, and the seafood dishes were woefully bad for a MD restaurant. Why they won't broil a crabcake is beyond me, and worse, the "Crab Chop salad" had that awful imitation crabmeat--it was tasteless and mushy. Even the fries were sub-par (in a town with Thrasher's, that's not good). I love the atmosphere with the pretty view, but probably wouldn never order seafood again, and might not even return. Someone needs to redo the menu, or at least make the things on the menu so they taste good.
(2)Mike D.
Went with my parents and we all agreed the food was superb. Dad had a Mahi sandwich and it was spot on. I had flounder with crab cake, clams casino, and shrimp. Would be 5 stars but our appetizer was forgotten.
(4)Brandon D.
The crab stuffed flounder was pretty amazing, definitely a 4-star dish. But it was fairly loud and the wait time on drinks and the food were very, very long. I would probably try this place again over lunch. Prices? It's a $20 per head meal place for dinner.
(3)Scott P.
Seafood skins! This place can do everything else wrong, and I'll still go back for their sour cream on top of cheese on top of seafood on top of fried potatoes. Seafood salad is also a really great lunch. Also, a great spot that I can bring all 3 kids and it's not a big deal if they are being rambunctious...just have a few more drinks and it's all good. Service is quick, drinks are good and view is great. I'll be back.
(4)Eric M.
Nice view of the bay. Food was good-i had a mahi mahi sandwich on a pretzel roll. It was hanging over the side & had good flavor. My wife had the chop chop crab salad- lettuce was not chopped very good & it could gave used more crab, but overall she liked it. Service was good, & our meal came out fairly quickly.
(3)b k.
back again off season , saw a bald eagle and seagull fight ! , good food and good drink , ordered burger and pulled pork sandwich FULL MENU TILL 1AM ! we will be back for sure
(5)Chad S.
Just OK. I order the ravoli and my wife ordered the Crab imperial. The food was good, the service and atmosphere was just ok.
(3)Melinda C.
This place has a really gorgeous view of the bay and a nice deck out back, but the food is ok. The bar had Bacardi Limon (hard to find around sometimes), so that's a plus. The host of our party said 'if you want a good crabcake, this is not the place to get it. Stick to what you know here'. How true those words were. A friend ordered a crabcake which was battered and fried and her face kind of shattered with the first bite. I had a fried fish fillet sandwich and it was quite good, actually. The fish seemed fresh, but the tartar sauce was too sweet. Came with lettuce and a thick slice of sweet tomato. Also came with a big plate of soggy fries (think 5 guys fries), But I'd get it again. I really wanted the feta fusion, but didn't have enough people to order it, but I was impressed that it was even on the menu. Their mozzarella sticks looked beer battered but was decent, served with a sweet chunky tomato sauce. Great appetizer for a big party. And I heard the barbequed pork sandwich was quite good. Our waitress was attentive and prompt. Dark inside, but if weather permits, eat outside and that would probably boost this review to 3.5 stars.
(3)Chris M.
Avoid this place!! Got food Poisioning fr their seafood!!!!! Good service! But almost died!!
(1)Erin L.
Thanks BJ's for always being open til 130 for dine in service. No where else can you get a sit down meal in OC after 930-10, much less on a Sunday! We went on 6/5/11 and had Shannon as a server. She was very attentive. Now for the menu- For drinks, my husband had a Sierra Nevada, which was the only true micro brew they had to offer (we don't count Sam Adams!) and I had a birch beer. I have had their frozen drinks before which are always a winner in my book! We started with a bowl of the roasted red pepper soup with crabmeat. This was a large portion and it was delish! I ordered the mahi mahi Broiled and topped with crab imperial. The fish was done just right and the imperial was one of the beat I've had. My husband got the tbone steak special, which he said was just ok. He had to use A1 steak sauce on it, so consider that as you will. My thought was- don't go to the farm and order fish, don't go to the beach and order cattle :) we both had garden salads with pepper Parm dressing and baked potatoes for our sides. A previous review had mentioned the croutons as being particularly good, and I would second that. They were very fresh and I liked them which says a lot since I usually hate croutons. The rolls were nothin to write home about, but the honey butter made them worthwhile. For dessert, we got the peanut butter pie, Which I also recommend. All in all, the food measure up to a 3 but BJ's got an extra star for it's convenience of being open late for us night owls! We will (and have) returned again and again for this very reason!
(4)Christine C.
Went to BJ's for dinner tonight after two nights of lousy restaurants!! My kids loved the crabcake blt and roasted red pepper soup. I had a salad with chicken teriyaki which was good and hubby said steamed clams were great. Nice atmosphere and our waiter Mike was great!
(4)h g.
Food was ok. Went here around 11 pm on a Sunday Night and the only place which was open. Server gave us excellent service and the music was good.
(4)Bertha C.
B.J.'s is a must-do OC thing for us, at least every other day while we are in OC. A very good variety of bands for older crowds and a lot of friendly people just looking to have a good time on the dance floor. There is the everlasting bucket of $2 lite beers, and the never-failing, always-pleasing seafood skins, which have a very cheesy, creamy topping over scallops and other seafood treats. And the bartenders. Well, they are the best bartenders in America! So many people at the bar, and the bartenders always know when you are just about ready for another round, and magically appear in front of you. It truly is a guaranteed good time for you and don't be shy about taking someone there for the first time. If you wanted to go out for good food and fun, you cannot go wrong at B.J.'s.
(5)Terri B.
We have eaten here many, many times before, but many years ago. Thought we would go back here for dinner for old times sake, but wish we would have gone elsewhere. The view....superb. The sun was setting and the dining looks out over the bay. Nothing to complain about that. The bloody marys that we ordered came in really small rocks glasses. Not more than a sip or two and not very tasty either. I am used to drinking mine in tall glasses with big olives or stalks of lettuce. The dinner was OK. Had steak and crab cake. It just felt like I was eating food out of my freezer at home. Nothing special, no presentation and much to pricey for the little that we enjoyed it. The baked potato had to have been heated over several times. Neither of us touched it after the first taste. May be a fun place to sit at the bar, have some (small) drinks and eat popcorn, but I think we could have found better.
(2)Desiree D.
Your typical local dive at the beach. A very lengthy menu with some tasty and interesting items, lots of sandwiches, but good overall variety. Live music by the bar and outdoor waterfront seating makes for a nice casual dining experience.
(4)Chris B.
Good food, but always touristy. Go for the sunset during the off-season for some great deals!
(4)Danielle V.
This is my favorite place in OCMD. The place is on a smaller scale, quite and the staff is super friendly. The food is always stellar. I had their crab imperial pizza for appetizer, and it was amazing! For entree, I had the crab cake and it was excellent. We sat out side and the view is so pretty and relaxing. We were a party of 4 and everyone enjoyed their meal.
(5)William F.
I love to head to BJ's when in Ocean City, especially at sunset.... the views on the bay are just stunning. The atmosphere hints at rustic, but it's quite modern and refreshing..... they offer all kinds of dishes that you'd expect in Ocean City, from crab dishes, to fresh catch.... chicken and steak.... I love Pasta BJ's and Shrimp and Scallops. There is something for everyone on this menu.... everything is prepared to perfection.... the food and atmosphere will keep you coming back year after year.
(5)Jr A.
Great place on the bay . Sit on the deck not inside of you can . The menu was good nothing outstanding . I like this place because it was filled with locals more than tourists and it was nice to experience something a little diiferent .
(4)Teresa M.
How about attention to details? First, clean and dust the restaurant. Seemed dirty and really dated-like still back in the 80's. Halloween is upon us but way too many decorations-looks trashy. Being in this business for 30 years-I think I know what a chopped salad is or should be. Kitchen! CUT lettuces in 1 inch pieces! That's it! Not big flopping pieces of romaine hanging all over! Chopped salad means....I do not have to cut it up-all you use is a fork! WOW. Lastly----waitrons. Check back with your guests. Don't leave us guessing or looking around for you.
(2)Tara M.
YOu can watch the ducks and feed them every afternoon so it's a huge hit with the kids. I love nothng more than to spend an evening with Father Frank at the bar while eating my seafood skins. The loaded skins have to be the best in town!
(5)Natalie F.
I've been here a few times and everything was pretty good until this past weekend. We got here too late for happy hour and sat outside for dinner. Our waitress was OK, nothing special. We ordered an appetizer, which was way over priced and enough for us each to have ONE shrimp popper. Pretty pathetic and laughably overpriced. One of my friends was smart and ordered a pork sandwich, which was priced fairly. My boyfriend and I ordered seafood entrees, BIG mistake! We each got about 5 small pieces of seafood (fried shrimp or scallops) Which were priced at about 16.99 and 17.99! Usually for that much you have enough on your plate that you can either take some home or are at least satisfied! Needless to say, I won't be back unless it's at happy hour.

We were looking for a place to eat and we came across BJ's. It seemed nice so decided to give it a try. The only thing i can say nice is the waitress was very friendly! The crab dip had absolutely no crab in it! I ordered the steak and eggs boy was that was a nightmare! The steak on a steak egg&cheese bagel at McDonalds seems like 5 star restaurant quality compared to what they brought out and the eggs were burnt. Well at least the toast was good!

Let's start with the positives - bartenders were good and there is free popcorn - do not go past there though - once we were seated it went downhill from there - we ordered meals from our server and it took over an hour to get them - when we did get them two of the meals (sandwiches) were prepared long before the last meal (lobster) and the two sandwiches were not eatable - the lobster was good but rather then the $39 "special" the server told us the "special" was really $48 and came with two sides that were not eatable. To top it off if the server had stopped by and allowed us to order drinks we may not have let us bother us, but after being given drinks intially we never were offered the chance to order additional drinks or even talk to the server - we actually had to trip her to say if the food did not arrive in 5 minutes to not bring it - it was amazing that the food showed up right after we said something - sad thing is that i own a house across the street from BJ;s and i really want them to do well and they never rise to the occasion - they are open until 1:30am and serve a full menu until then - but if you can not eat the food you are served and you are over charged for the food is it worth it - no i think not and i would save yourself the trouble and go some where you can get waited on and eat the food

Great direct bayfront views, a true local's favorite at the Beach. Warm and inviting. Bar is lively and engaging. Fun night life with many local bands.
